Black, white or inbetween candles?

Some candle basics......
Once you enter a Metaphysical type shop, the first thing you probably see are candles, lots of candles. They come in all colors and a variety of shapes. You have votives, tapers, pillars, glass enclosed, image and mini candles.
So let's start at the beginning with two common candles, black or white.
White reflects everything that is thrown at it and hence is most often used for protection. White is also used for most altar and religious applications. They are also the cheapest and most common candle.
Black absorbs everything. This can be very helpful when you have a lot of negativity coming your way or anything that is overwhelming you. On the other hand, if you want more something, black will act as an attractant or bait.
A lot of people get really upset when they discover their candle is dipped. That usually happens in cheap stores because reversing candles are normally large pillars and expensive in your local Magick store. What this means is the base candle is white and it has them been dipped in another color. So you get what looks like a black candle but if you break in it half, you discover the interior is white.
You should buy all of these. Now I know a famous (if fame is determined by the size of the ad you can buy) psychic claims all black candles are evil and you'll lose your soul to a demon if you have them in your house. I watched her scare a poor woman half to death one night, but she knows better. The black outer layer can be programmed or will by itself absorb whatever influence is around you and then the white layer “reverses” it. So if there is a lot of negativity, the black layer absorbs it and the white layer reverses the energy and emits it as positive energy.
I use candles in all colors that I managed to get from a Scandinavian firm once that are white cored to do various reversing work. They are highly effective. I hide the box so you won't find them and buy them. I am sneaky that way.
So why would this 'psychic' try to scare this poor lady whose only crime was decorating her dining room in black and white? Whenever someone in the psychic tries to scare you, get ready for old “gypsy” cleansing routine where you lose a few thousand dollars to get the evil cleaned off something. I had one offer to cleanse my money one day and I asked simply, why don't I just return it to the bank and new. If you get involved in one of these schemes, either they will take your money outright or you will get neatly wrapped blocks of cut newspaper back. So don't let anyone scare you. To cleanse something, simply soak it in a white or clear dish of salt water placed in a sunny window for one day. Or light a sage stick and pass it through the smoke 7 times. It is easy and a simple beginning do it yourself project.

Have a great day!
